Einführungstext

Hanging Vaults for oboe, clarinet, vibraphone, piano, violin and violoncello takes its inspiration from the Byzantine architectural style, known as "hanging architecture" . Typical for this style are the enormous arches or vaults which give the structure a feeling of weightless stability. I tried to reveal this in my piece using middle and high partials of a fundamental which can be hardly perceived.
There are two movements, both based on the partials of a “G”. Most of the music focuses on the middle register starting from the 9th - 10th – 12th partial such that “D” seems to be the main tone at the beginning of each part. The difference between the movements is a syntactic one: the “vaults” drawn by the instruments appear simultaneously in the first part and intersect in the second one.

La granita dintre suprarealism, sincretism, sincronism

În 24 Mai, formaţia condusă de Liviu Dănceanu ne-a oferit, conform obiceiului, o paletă stilistică variată, plină de culoare şi poezie: ... Hanging Vaults, pentru ansamblu, de Dana Probst – o piesă luminoasă, datorită folosirii rezonanţei naturale a sunetelor, fapt ce pune în mişcare ecouri ale reverberaţiilor, într-o reverie continuă;
